An art exhibition that started at MGM MACAU in April has grown bigger and brighter. The “MGM x HAHALULU x One Central Macau Trend Art Exhibition” now stretches across two venues and runs through August 31, bringing the cheerful, gourd-shaped characters to both MGM MACAU and the neighboring One Central Macau mall.

HAHALULU was created by Dennis Chan, the founder of jewelry brand Qeelin. He took the traditional Chinese gourd — a classic symbol of good fortune — and gave it a playful, modern makeover. The result is a collection of smiling, colorful characters that have already popped up in cities across mainland China.
New additions at MGM MACAU’s Grande Praca include four “Crystal LULU” figures. Each one is handcrafted using a snow-setting technique, with thousands of crystals assembled one by one by artisans. The lineup includes Golden Blessing Light, Radiant Light, Sculpted Shadow Light, and Aegean Light, each in its own custom pattern.

The Masters Tribute Series paintings have been upgraded to original oil-on-canvas works, letting visitors see the artist’s brushwork up close. Other playful pieces include The Wutai Mountain Fortune & Blessing Map and a Fu Lu Shou sculpture.
Over at One Central Macau, the atrium now features the HAHALULU Wishing Gourd Tree, a 3.4-meter-tall installation with four-colored gourds representing health, wealth, love, and career. Nearby, the HAHALULU Mirror is a translucent gourd-shaped photo spot with lighting that shifts between pink, blue, yellow, and green.
MGM MACAU’s Pastry Bar has added savory HAHALULU-themed dishes to go with its popular desserts and drinks. A retail zone sells limited-edition merchandise including T-shirts, cushions, handbags, and figurines.
