Canto Jade, a new modern Cantonese restaurant at Cityplaza in Taikoo Shing, has opened with a menu rooted in traditional techniques and a design inspired by Song Dynasty aesthetics. The 5th-floor space seats guests across a main dining hall and a private room for up to 24, with window-side tables for everyday meals and flexible setups for larger groups.

The kitchen leans into classic Cantonese craft. Signature dishes include flambéed char siu, finished tableside with whisky; double-boiled morel mushroom claypot soup, slow-cooked for over four hours; and steamed roe crab with pork patty, a humble-meets-luxurious combination of land and sea. A return of the dim sum trolley brings a nostalgic touch, with carts wheeled tableside throughout the day. Highlights from the trolley include the Eight Delights Dim Sum Birdcage, featuring crystal prawn dumplings, black truffle siu mai, and apple char siu puffs.

Desserts and teas get their own moment. A takeaway corner called Canto Sweet offers steamed custard cakes shaped like Chinese chess pieces, osmanthus egg custard with fermented rice, and a 24 Solar Terms tea menu with selections like Jin Jun Mei black tea latte and osmanthus green oolong latte.
To celebrate the opening, dinner reservations for four or more between August 11 and September 11 receive a complimentary crispy chicken with scallion oil and mushroom sauce.
