Ponentino Brings Sabatini-Inspired Italian Dining to Tseung Kwan O’s Rooftop

The Royal Garden Hotel Group is expanding its Italian dining legacy with Ponentino, opening this July on the 47th floor of The Royal Garden Kowloon East. The new restaurant draws inspiration from Sabatini — the group’s renowned Tsim Sha Tsui institution — with its culinary team lending expertise and creative direction to the project.

Executive Chef Joe Wat Kai Chung, whose background includes stints in Michelin-starred kitchens across Europe, leads the kitchen. The menu offers elevated Italian classics with an ingredient-forward approach, available through a tasting menu (HK$528 for lunch, HK$788 for dinner), semi-buffet sets, and à la carte options.

Highlights include Botan Ebi Carpaccio with salmon roe, caviar, green apple, and yuzu sorbet; Fig Stracciatella; and Beef Consommé with Steamed Egg Custard and Chives. Main courses feature Linguine with Spanish Red Prawn and Pan-fried Toothfish with Franciacorta cream sauce. Desserts include Homemade Tiramisu and an Apple Pie with Vanilla Gelato.

A playful touch: guests can take a personality test via a dedicated app to generate an AI-crafted bespoke cocktail.

The space includes a spacious terrace for al fresco dining and a private dining room, La Collina, accommodating up to 14 guests. Semi-buffet lunch starts at HK$358 (weekdays) and HK$398 (weekends); dinner from HK$528. Bookings through the hotel’s eShop get up to 12% off.
