Tai Kwun Art Week returns for its 2026 edition from March 23 to 29, transforming the heritage site into a hub of live performances, exhibitions and after-dark programming during Hong Kong’s Art Month. Presented in collaboration with Art Basel Hong Kong, the week features a lineup of cross-disciplinary events across the heritage site.

Live Performances Take Center Stage
Art After Hours: Beings in Motion on March 28 (7pm–10pm) explores the body as a site of expression, with performances by Geumhyung Jeong, Justin Taplacido Shoulder and Tation addressing themes of gender roles, identity and community through live interaction and vulnerability.
The annual Artists’ Night returns March 27 (8pm–11pm) by invitation, created in partnership with Art Basel Hong Kong for the third consecutive year. The evening spotlights emerging and experimental performers including Geumhyung Jeong, Justin Taplacido Shoulder, musicians from DAVID BORING, Tation, Lydo, and visual artists from Hong Kong and beyond.
Geumhyung Jeong also presents Fire Drill Scenario, a performance that choreographs safety instructions to familiarize audiences with emergency protocols—investigating the real-life risks artists and audiences take when participating in live experiences. The work is part of SPOTLIGHT: A Season of Performing Arts 2026.

Exhibitions and Gallery Openings
Tai Kwun Contemporary continues its exhibition Stay Connected: Supplying the Globe, the second chapter of Stay Connected: Art and China Since 2008. Featuring over 70 artworks from more than 40 artists, the show explores individual stories, family histories and lesser-seen places shaped by globalization and China’s economic transformation. Special hours run throughout Art Week, with late-night opening until 10pm on March 27.
Commercial galleries across Tai Kwun present special exhibitions. Highlights include Lily Stockman: A Grass Roof at MASSIMODECARLO (March 24–May 21), SHI Yuguang’s lacquer painting solo exhibition at The Gallery by SOIL (March 14–April 19), Time After Time at Ora-Ora (March 24–April 25), and The Light Seeker at Touch Gallery (through April 1).
